In questo film seguiamo la storia dell’artista tedesca Eva Hesse attraverso un gioco di rimandi fra la sua vita e le sue opere innovative. La storia è ambientata nella fervente atmosfera della New York degli anni ‘60 dove la scena artistica e il movimento femminista degli esordi svolgono un ruolo fondamentale. This film explores the journey of Eva Hesse, an artist whose life was in dynamic interplay with her ground-breaking work. The story takes place in the fervour of New York in the 1960s, where the art scene plays a major role as does the burgeoning feminist movement. The film also explores Hesse’s youth as a Jew in the 1930’s in Germany, a country she would return to in 1964 to face her past and forge her future. It is a poignant look at a profoundly talented artist whose career, as it was beginning, prematurely ended in both tragedy and triumph.

è regista e scrittrice. Il suo libro From Word to Image: Storyboarding and the Filmmaking Process, tradotto in cinque lingue, viene utilizzato nelle scuole di cinematografia di tutto il mondo. Ha pubblicato su numerose riviste del settore quali Filmmaker Magazine, Indiewire, Indie Slate e Writer's Store. È stata professore associato all’Art Center College e direttore fondatore dell’Integrating Learning Program presso l’Otis College of Art and Design. Come designer/illustrator ha lavorato a oltre venti film con numerosi registi e varie case di produzione tra cui ABC, Paramount, New Line Cinema, HBO e Handmade Films. Eva Hesse è il suo primo lungometraggio.
