Sedici anni dopo l’uscita del film Rivers and Tides, Thomas Riedelsheimer incontra di nuovo l’artista Andy Goldsworthy ed esplora l’evoluzione del suo lavoro durante questo lungo lasso di tempo. Leaning into the Wind, “affidarsi al vento”, mette a nudo lo spirito dell’artista rivelando la forza visiva e concettuale della sua arte. Sixteen years after the release of Rivers and Tides, Thomas Riedelsheimer has once again encountered artist Andy Goldsworthy and has explored his work during this long period of time. Leaning into the Wind completely unveils the artist’s spirit, revealing the visual and conceptual power of his art. The works of Andy Goldsworthy are made exclusively with natural materials such as rocks, leaves, branches, ice, snow or rain and, taking advantage of atmospheric conditions, he physically interacts in an intense dialogue between man and nature.
Thomas Riedelsheimer è nato nel 1963 e ha studiato Cinema e Televisione a Monaco di Baviera dove vive e lavora. È scrittore, regista e fotografo. Dal 2006 è docente alla Filmakademie Ludwigsburg. Nel 2008 ha fondato con Stefan Tolz la casa di produzione cinematografica Filmpunkt GmbH. Ha vinto numerosi premi nazionali e internazionali per il cinema e la televisione e ha partecipato a numerosi festival. È membro della German and European Film Academy. Tra i suoi film ricordiamo: Rivers and Tides, 2000; Seelenvögel, 2009; Garden in the Sea, 2011; Breathing Earth: Susumu Shingu’s Dream, 2012, The Colour of Yearning, 2016.
