Markus Raetz has a sixth sense for perceptions of the extraordinary kind. They challenge our habits of observation and they look at things from a completely new angle. Movement is involved in many of Raetz’ works: the appearance of his installations and sculptures changes when put in movement or viewed from a different perspective. Thus, a man wearing a Beuys-like hat becomes a hare, and a YES is turned into a NO. Examining the artist’s personal view of the world helps the viewers better understand the man behind these incredible works of art.
